REPORT FROM FALL, 2005
Thank you so much for making 2005 the greatest year of ministry ever! The ministry this fall has been very fruit-ful. Many people would not have been touched, taught the Word, nor encouraged – if it had not been for your prayers and support. May God bless you and reward you.
Debby’s Ministry This Fall
Debby ministered in the Philippines with her dad and spoke at 5 Women’s Conferences in the U.S.
Philippines
Debby and her dad, Pastor Charley Elwell, held a pastor’s seminar, taught in a Bible school and visited numerous churches and pastors. Their goal was to encourage the pastors and their wives. They also traveled for several days throughout the island of Palawan, going places that many people have been afraid to go. There were stories of terrorists, cobras, and cannibals as they went around, but they continued on, knowing that the people needed the en-couragement they brought. We wish you, our supporters, could have seen the pastors and their wives as smiles would light up their faces. After prayer they would say the joy of the Lord had come and now they could go on in their work for the Lord, having been encouraged.
Women’s Conferences
Debby was privileged to speak at several women’s confer-ences this fall. She found it a great joy to travel to differ-ent areas of the States and see what God is doing among the woman. She is also excited to have had a part in so many women’s lives.
Ghana
The Leader’s seminar in Accra was powerful. Pastor Al-bert’s young men are in a big hurry to go out and plant churches. We have to keep asking them to wait so they can receive more training before they can go.
Benin
In October the Bible School moved to a new hall and Fred got to be the first teacher there and dedicate the room. He also organized 5 seminars for February, March and April. Please pray for two special requests. Papa George is one of the few aged pastors in Benin. He has been having ter-rible problems with uncontrollable high blood pressure for the past few years – please pray for health. Also pray for one of our workers in Benin named Herve. He has disap-peared and foul play is suspected.
Mali
Fred took video equipment to Pastor Marc in Bamako, Mali, so that he could be on TV. This is a tremendous opening to be on TV in this 90 percent Muslim country and beyond. Fred also taught the book of Acts and it was a very powerful class.
Senegal
Fred held 2 seminars in Senegal. The first was in Ziguin-chor, a war torn region that has finally come to peace. The pastors were so glad to have us come. The second was in the capitol of Dakar. They said that the Leader’s seminar in Dakar was one of the best ever.
Video Bible Schools
Fred took 6 Video Bible Schools with him to Africa to be-gin 6 new schools. 1 each for Ghana and Ivory Coast, 3 for Benin and the last was for Mali, for pastor Pedro. Some of the pastors had been waiting for over a year to have the Videos and player. Fred’s brother, Robert, is helping us by coping the DVD Video Bible Schools.
Projects
Perhaps you don’t realize all the different ministries we are involved in. We are involved in Bible Schools, Video Bible Schools, Leader’s Seminars and Women’s Seminars. We are also involved in an Orphanage in Benin and Girl’s home in Ivory Coast.
Working with planting village churches, we need to help the pastors with transportation. We just bought a dug-out canoe to help a village church planter get around. We need to help buy about 36 small Motorcycles for these pastors so that they can plant and lead more churches. Each one will cost around $1,000. That’s 2 motorcycles a month for the next 18 months that we need to help buy. Would you or your church like to speed the gospel to un-reached villages by sponsoring a motorcycle for a pastor? Please contact us if you would like to help or if you would like to know more.
Prayer Needs
1) We need to pay off thousands of dollars of debt from 2005 and at least $1,000 more support each month.
2) After tests, the doctor says Fred has a cyst growing on his left kidney. Pray for it to dissolve and go away.
