Abidjan Update!
Christine Dunk and I were in the Ivory Coast from May 9-28. It was a very fruitful trip. The first Sunday I spoke to Pastor Esther’s church. She has a new location and the church was packed. I was impressed with the intensity of their worship and how quickly they responded to what I shared.
From there we traveled with Pastor Edmond and my translator, Chantal, to a small city where we had a pastor’s seminar. Pastor Edmond and I both spoke every day. After one of my sessions a pastor gave a testimony that he had come to the seminar to tell everyone that he was quitting the ministry.
Through the message and prayer, he was going home with a new vision and a new passion for the ministry. After that we traveled to Bonoua for another Pastors’s seminar and a Bible school graduation. The pastors, who attended the seminars were so hungry, that they were willing to sit session after session.
One day I spoke for 3 sessions then traveled back to Abidjan for night services besides. The next Sunday I spoke at 2 churches and greeted a 3rd.
The end of the last week, we were scheduled for a ladies conference at Pastor Edmond’s church. We had evening meetings and Saturday afternoon seminars. Christine, and I both taught in the seminars. The women were greatly encouraged.
They gave many testimonies of how God had touched them. On Saturday evening, the ladies gave testimonies about what God had done for them and they danced and danced.
They were so excited on that last night and it was a joy to watch them respond to what the Lord had done for them. The last Sunday I spoke in 2 churches. The last service was particularly exciting as we saw many people touched during the prayer time.
Thank you for your prayers and support for this trip. Words cannot express how blessed these dear people were that we came and ministered to them. Many of the places we went were in faraway villages, traveling over difficult roads, where many people won’t go. Our ministry there meant so much to these dear people and you had a part in this ministry.

Speak Life
Have you ever noticed that we often see things in our lives that we don’t like and then talk about them, all of the time. We remind others and ourselves that our husband, wife, children, job or church are less then what we have wanted. Solidifying their problems and shortcomings by rehashing them over and over, we give wings to our words and with our seal of approval we curse those whom we love the most. James 3:10 says “From
the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.” (ESV). We should ask ourselves, “What comes out of my mouth? Blessing or Cursing?” I have made a deliberate decision to watch my mouth because it is too easy to just start talking without giving it any thought. The next thing we know we have said things that we shouldn’t have said and we can never take them back.
Psalms 141:3
Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips! (ESV)
