May 2010 Update

Dear Friends,Pic1

We are so privileged to be your missionaries and a channel of God’s Word in the world.  We really need your prayers and support!  We are writing to say, “THANK YOU.”  And to ask you to please continue to keep us in your prayers.

Seeing Sons

One of the special things that characterized this last trip was being with some of our, “sons.”  We have been teaching in West Africa for more than 12 years.  Every graduation means that the workers are multiplying!! It is a privilege to be with them and hear what they are accomplishing.  Daniel came over from Lagos, Nigeria, to be with us.  Aldous came from Tamale, Ghana and later we were with him in Tamale.  Augustin set up the meetings in Congo for Debby and then we were with him at his conference in Benin.  In Obuasi we were with Albert.  At the end we saw Antoine and Alphonse from Ivory Coast.  A great blessing.

Congo

Debby flew to Brazzaville, Congo.  It was a time for flexibility from the extra day layover in Paris to the discovery that the Women’s Conference and the trip to Pointe Noire were canceled.  But there were churches and hungry hearts waiting for Debby and Judy Mundy to minister to them.  It was a fruitful time.

Benin

We were in 4 cities in Benin.  We taught Bible School in Cotonou, the main city of Benin, at the beginning and end of our time there.  We drove North to Parakou and then farther North to Banikoara – a central town to the village area of the Baribe people.  We had an open-air crusade at night and a Pastor’s Meeting the next morning.  Then we came back to Parakou for some churches and then went northeast to Natintingou.  We had a Leader’s Conference in the morning and a big church rally in the evening.  Then back to Parakou again where we were speakers at pastor Augustin’s Leader’s Conference.  Then back South to Cotonou for Bible School, churches and a visit to the Orphanage.

Togo

We were in Lome, Togo, Sunday, for churches and Monday, for live teaching at the Video Bible School.

Ghana

We were in 4 cities in Ghana.  We spent the majority of the time in the North in the Tamale area.  First we had a graduation of a Video Bible School farther north in Tongo, a village near Bolgatanga.  The church was full of people coming to cheer on the graduates.

You cannot believe how excited the Christians are in these areas to have a Video Bible School to help train workers.  The students work hard and sacrifice to attend the classes, pass the course and get their diploma.  Afterwards their pastor can send them to plant a church farther out into the villages where there has never been a church.  We have many places that are asking to have a Video Bible School.  Please pray with us for the finances, wisdom and workers so that we can make, send and start more schools in more places so that more workers can be trained and sent out.

When we came south to Kumasi we were able to go to the nearby town of Obouasi and visit Albert at the church he leads.

Back in Accra we were able to see and minister with our friends again.  We also preached at an open-air crusade and saw 2 of our graduates from Abidjan, Alphonse and Antoine.

Many Open Doors

PRAY with us about the openings we have in Central Africa, Europe, the Caribbean and Asia.  We want to move with God.

In June we plan to be in New York City with one of our African graduates who has started a church there.

We are excited to go to Quebec, Canada, in July, to help a friend with a church he recently planted there.
